I pose a serious question to you.  One I want you to seriously ponder.

How do you know if Heaven and Hell exist?

If they do exist, what are they really like?  They say Hell is a place that you can never
leave once you have physically died.  Maybe you are a person of good moral
character.  I mean, you give to the Salvation Army during Christmas time, you put
quarters in the homeless person's tip jar, you never or rarely use profane language,
you don't look at pornography, you have a good marriage life.  All in all, you are a
pretty decent person.  If you are this good upstanding pillar of society, you may feel
that you do not deserve to go to Hell.  After all, isn't Hell a place for people like
Saddam Hussein, Adolph Hitler, serial killers, child molesters, and people like that?

God says that Hell was created for Satan and all of those fallen angels we now know
as devils, demons, and unclean spirits.  Well, if this is true, then 'why' or even 'how'
can men and women wind up in this horrific place called Hell?  God established his
moral law we refer to as "
The Ten Commandments".  Let's just check and see if you
broke any of God's laws.  Keep in mind if you break the law in your city, the local
police will arrest you and you will have to pay the penalty for the crime you committed.
So let's take a few and see where you stand...

God says that you should not steal.  Be honest, have you ever at any time taken or
removed from the possession of someone else something that did not belong to you?
Be honest, a piece of bubble gum, a pen from the local bank, a car, money, and so on
all apply here.  If you have, then what does this make you?  If you are honest with
yourself, this makes you a THIEF.

God says that you should not bear false witness.  In other words, you are not to lie.
He does not parse words whether they are little white lies or big black ones.  Lying to
God is lying.  So, ask yourself, have you ever provided a false witness, or lied?  When
you study the meaning of the original Hebrew, 'to bear false witness' also refers to a
misleading statement.  Have you ever done that?  Be honest with this one as well,
have you ever committed this offense?  If you have, then what does that make you?
Some may say it makes you a storyteller, but the actual descriptor is not a storyteller,
but a LIAR.

Let's look at one more... God says hat you should not commit adultery.  But what is
interesting here is that Jesus explained this law for deeper clarity.  Jesus said that if
you look with lust onto another woman, that you have already committed adultery in
your heart. Being totally honest, not with me, but with yourself, have you ever looked
at some hot chick or hot dude and thought to yourself in a sexual manner about that
other person?  Well, according to Jesus you have become guilty of this law.  That
make you an ADULTERER at heart.

Keep in mind, there is another seven commandments to go.  How did you score?  Are
you guilty of all three?  Are you guilty of just one?  The Bible says that we have all
become violators of God's law.  You got to understand that no one is perfect.  But just
as a man who kills someone twenty years ago, he must still stand for the crime he
committed.  The murderer may stand before the judge and say that since he murdered
that man twenty years ago, he has become a powerful philanthropist, fed the
homeless, built rescue missions, etc so that he be not found guilty of his crime.  The
judge would have to reply to this sort of defense, "You broke the law anyways".  See,
you can not expect cover up through good works the things you did to violate God's
law.  Just as the man who committed murder must go to prison as his sentence, so
must the violator of God's law go to prison.  God's prison is not San Quentin, but a
much worse place called Hell.

The good news is that God loved us so much that He sent Jesus, His only born Son
to pay the price for our sins.  See, Jesus took the punishment we would have had to
have endured upon Himself.  After you die, you will have to stand before God to be
judged for the crimes you committed.  When you stand there before God, and He asks
what your reply is, you can not claim that you were a good person most of the time.
The only thing God will look at is whether or not your sins were washed away by
Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross at Mount Cavalry.  This is the only ticket to Heaven you
will get.  I am fond of playing th board game Monopoly.  Consider Jesus as your "Get
out of Jail Free" card.  Nothing else will hold water before God who is your Judge.
